POWERS OF TEN

At our first class along with a lot of sketching we discussed how sketching reinforces the way we look at things as designers. We discussed the power of zooming in/out in the process of perceiving both the overall qualities and the details of things, the environment or even our ideas. 

Here is a short film which depicts that power of zooming rather beautifully as it highlights the importance of scale in 'Powers of Ten'. The film is done by the designer couple Ray & Charles Eames in 1977. You can read more about the designers and the film in the highlighted links above.
